Local Art and Exhibitions You Can Visit Around Llandudno

When visiting a new location, it’s a great opportunity to capture the local art and events that are happening. Art galleries are great destinations to enjoy the latest art shows and appreciate art. There are a plethora of galleries which offer an assortment of media types. So, let’s take a look at where you can get your creativity flowing. 

Mostyn Art Gallery, Llandudno 

Just a short walk from our hotel, you can drop by Mostyn Art Gallery alongside one of Llandudno’s streets. This is a centre for contemporary arts, featuring local artists, exhibitions, events, films and workshops you can get involved in yourself! 

Mostyn Art Gallery aims to provide a space for creators and visitors to be inspired by what’s on show. You can also stop by at the upstairs Cafe, called Oriel Cafe. This is an open space for you to enjoy a selection of food and drinks on offer, including catering options for vegans and those who require gluten free alternatives.

Oriel Ynys Môn, Llangefni 

Situated in the heart of Anglesey, Oriel Ynys Môn large art gallery showcases contemporary and wildlife art. On site, there is an array of exhibitions to explore, a museum, shop and cafe. 

This artspace is a purpose built museum which explores the heritage of the Isle of Anglesey over thousands of years. There are also opportunities for volunteering, group visits and school activities, inviting the community to join in supporting local arts.

Galeri Caernarfon 

Watch the latest cinema and theatre shows under one roof, here at Galeri Caernarfon. After a £7.5 million development back in 2005, this Creative Enterprise has invited a great opportunity for the creative industry in North Wales. Within the new development, visitors can now enjoy a theatre/ cinema space, 24 business work units, a large art space, Cafe bar, plus more! 

Galeri Caernarfon also offers a programme that includes art-forms such as theatre, film, music, dance, literature and workshops to explore the array of creative forms of art.

Ffin Y Parc, Llanrwst 

Welcomed in 2010, Oriel Ffin y Parc Gallery has become a popular gallery to visit in Wales. From rising newcomers to well-known artists, this gallery shares the work of over forty exhibitors, all working in Wales.  

At Oriel Ffin y Parc, there are opportunities to explore the latest artwork throughout the year, with a series of exhibitions running across 2023. 

There is also a cafe on site, where you can take a coffee and cake break whilst you digest the creativity of the art.

Storiel, Bangor 

This Welsh town gallery collates the history from across North Wales. The gallery aims to collect, preserve and exhibit pieces in relation to the surrounding area of Gwynedd. Here, you will find pieces from the local University of Bangor, object pieces and furniture designs. 

The centre also offers a learning programme for young people, families and adults too. 

Pawb, Wrexham 

Bringing the community together, Pawb provides art and markets under one roof, celebrating the area of Wrexham. As well as artwork exhibitions, the centre showcases live performances too. 

On site, facilities include two gallery spaces, a theatre room, meeting rooms and a food court that offers food and drink, including a bar! That’s not forgetting the 30 local independent businesses across the market on site. These businesses include handmade craft shops, clothing, food and beauty too! There’s something for everyone to explore here – including occasional live music!
